So you want to go to Disneyland for the first time, but you are in your mid-20s and won't be bringing any children along with you. While many families choose to take their kids to Disneyland for an unforgettable experience, you can soak up the magic with your college friends or adult family members. But if you've never been before, how can you know which rides are worth the wait? For adults who want a thrill (and need to avoid lines full of kids), try the following rides first.
Splash Mountain is located in the far back corner of Disneyland, past the Haunted Mansion. It's a country-themed log ride that takes you along waterways and eventually down a steep waterfall. The ride itself is quite slow up until the waterfall par, but then it'll put your heart in your throat, and there's a good chance that you'll get wet. Some people walk away dry, but just to be safe, do this ride in the morning so you have time to dry off before it gets dark.
Indiana Jones is a fast-paced ride that adults love. You may have to wait in line for an hour without a Fast Pass, but a majority of that time will be spent inside air-conditioned and themed rooms. You'll strap into an explorer "Jeep" and wind your way through caves with snakes, huge boulders, fire, and a steep but short drop-off. This ride takes you on many twists and turns, so you'll walk away with a big adrenaline rush wanting more.
Pirates of the Caribbean
If you get overwhelmed with too many fast rides, take a break on Pirates of the Caribbean. This attraction takes you on a boat ride through a fantasy pirate world with singing pirates and a boat battle. You'll see jailed pirates, pillaging pirates, and drunken pirates, not to mention some replicas of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. As an added bonus, this ride is a bit too dark and scary for very young children, so the line may be shorter. Enjoy the cool-off in a covered, dark space and walk out ready to tackle the rest of Disneyland.
Possibly the most exciting ride at Disneyland is the famous Space Mountain. This space-themed roller coaster lets you board a spaceship and zip off into the darkness—literally. The entire ride is super fast and pitch black aside from lights meant to mimic stars. You'll speedily wind around inside the dark room for about a minute and scream your head off the entire time.
Every ride at Disneyland should be experienced at least once, but these are the classics that adults can enjoy over and over again. For Disney vacation deals, talk to someone from an agency like The Travel Business, Inc.
